Where does the colour of the butterfly come from?
With our experiment box you can examine a butterfly wing in detail under the light microscope and discover where its fascinating colour comes from.
An interactive guide explains what there is to discover under the microscope and which fascinating phenomena are behind the colours of butterfly wings. The experiment box makes tangible what is also shown in our contribution to “Die Sendung mit der Maus” (in German). Our teaching materials (partly in German) can be used as a supplement.
The experiment box is ideal for project days, workshops or other school events. It can be collected free of charge in Erlangen or sent anywhere in Germany by DHL; in that case the postage costs are borne by the borrower. It is easy to use: plug it in – and you are ready to go! The box can be borrowed with a German or a bilingual (German and English) description.
