Prof. Ilja Siepmann holds the position of Distinguished McKnight University Professor at the University of Minnesota (UMN), USA where he is the coordinator of the Nanoporous Materials Genome Center (NMGC). The focus of the center is to discover and explore microporous and mesoporous materials for separation and catalysis. Whithin this framework, Prof. Siepmann developes and applies particle-based simulations of complex chemical systems including the prediction of phase, sorption, chemical equilibria and thermophysical properties.
The seminars are organised in a block-lecture format according to the following calendar:
Lecture 1: November 5th
Obtaining Knowledge and Data for Separations from Molecular Simulation
Speaker meets students: November 9th (3 – 4 pm)
Q&A session
Lecture 2 and 3: November 12th and November 19th
Understanding Retention in Reversed-phase Liquid Chromatography and Size Exclusion Chromatography: Insights from Molecular Simulations
Speaker meets PIs: November 26th (3 – 4 pm)
Q&A session
Lecture 4: December 3rd
