On July 17th, the team of CRC1411 participated to the Siemens Summer Fest with the new game “Help Murphy shine!”.
This newly developed game brings families together to solve a challenge: find out what’s the ingredient to make nanostructures colorful. Three clues are hiding in the provided materials, and all relate to optical effects. The aim of the activity is to bring people closer to the research of CRC1411 in a playful and accessible way. After the game, the players can see how nanostructures are used in the animal world to create color, and take a picture to bring home with them.
Over 1000 people played our game and learned about structural color.
The game will soon be available for download, and all the materials can be rented by contacting our outreach team.
